Saint Laurent’s foray into film production turned heads at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. The French fashion house’s newly established company presented three films, all vying for a coveted spot in the official selection.

Two of these projects, “The Shrouds” and “Parthenope,” generated buzz with their star-studded casts, who walked the red carpet in dazzling Saint Laurent creations. But it was “Emilia Perez” that truly stole the show, garnering prestigious awards at the festival.

This captivating film tells the story of a lawyer who helps a notorious cartel leader transition out of his illicit business and embrace his true identity. Boasting A-listers like Zoe Saldaña and Selena Gomez, “Emilia Perez” received a thunderous 12-minute standing ovation at its Cannes premiere.

After the festival’s whirlwind 11 days, the closing ceremony announced the competition winners, chosen by a jury led by “Barbie” director Greta Gerwig. “Emilia Perez” solidified its impact by securing the Jury Prize and the award for Best Performance by an Actress, a shared recognition for its exceptional leading quartet.

Meanwhile, “Parthenope” wasn’t left empty-handed. The film’s stunning cinematography earned director of photography Daria D’Antonio the prestigious CST Award for Best Artist-Technician.
